Artist Deja Brown and Skin of Color Update 2020 Virtual
The Skin of Color Update 2020 Virtual Meeting is fortunate to pair with Brooklyn artist Deja Brown (dejadoodles.com) to design a wonderful t-shirt to commemorate this year’s SOCU 2020 Virtual. For the first time we are planning and hosting a virtual meeting due to the ongoing global pandemic. We take the health of our presenters, clients, vendors, staff and support staff seriously and have opted to hold this meeting virtually and offer the content through the rest of the year.
Deja Brown provided the following artist’s statement about the piece.
“I really wanted to find a way to connect to people of color while creating a piece of art that everyone could connect to as well. As a woman of color, I always try to find ways to connect and bridge with others through my art. Hair and skin is something that I always connected to, so I was thrilled to get to share my passion with others!”

To continue our mission and support the skin of color community, we have partnered with Comprehensive Medical Mentoring Program (https://www.cmmpmed.org/), a non for profit organization dedicated to matriculating minorities into medicine.
